As a Civil Engineer with INFĪR you will be involved in the design, contract administration and construction monitoring for a range of projects and liaise with clients, contractors and other consultants.

Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to deliver a variety of civil engineering related projects. This include design of civil infrastructure works, tender preparation, contract administration, monitoring of contract works, and environmental assessments and monitoring.

Key Work Areas:

1. Project planning and coordination

• Develop project plans.

• Collect, coordinate and process project and field information

• Monitor and manage project timelines, budgets, quality and risk.

2. Design

• Undertake site investigations to identify risks, issues, and constraints

• Develop and prepare designs at concept, developed, preliminary and detailed design levels.

• Produce drawings and develop specifications.

• Document designs in design reports.

3. Contract administration

• Prepare tender documentation and administer tender processes.

• Undertake construction monitoring to ensure works are in accordance with specifications and to track progress against budget and time constraints.

4. Project coordination

• Establish and develop good working relationships with external consultants and contractors.

• Maintain trusting relationships with clients.

5. Environmental

• Evaluation of effects of discharges to the environment.

• Design of stormwater quality improvement devices and systems.

• Preparation of pollution control plans.

• Preparation of sediment and erosion control plans.

• Monitoring of discharges and control measures.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Have a relevant Civil Engineering degree or diploma

• AutoCad; Autodesk Civil 3D (desirable)

• Knowledge of regulatory processes, consultancy experience and/or contractor experience

• Working knowledge of relevant Codes of Practice and industry Standards

• NZS3910 contract processes

• Driver’s license
